Christa Bach-Marschall Foundation

Christa Bach during the Prize Giving ceremony in 2014

The Bach Archive Leipzig has losed Christa Bach (4. Mai 1934 – 15. Mai 2018), an enthusiastic supporter of Bach’s heritage. It was her wish to help young musicians to fulfill their potential. The Christa Bach Marschall Foundation awards grants since the Bach Competition in 2006. We gratefully remember her support.

The benefractress, Christa Bach, wass especially interested in advancing young, industrious musicians from Eastern Europe who are financially in need. Therefore, the Christa Bach-Marschall Foundation awards a special price during the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition: a stipend for young musicians to take part in a master class. The decision about the award is made by the jury of the competition.
