Happy Birthday Bach – Live stream for Bach’s 336th birthday

On 21 March, 3 pm CET, the Gaechinger Cantorey led by Hans-Christoph Rademann will celebrate J. S. Bach’s 336th birthday with the yearly Bachakademie birthday concert in which the Mass in B Minor will be performed. The concert will be streamed live in cooperation with the Bach-Archiv Leipzig. During the interval, Michael Maul, Artistic Director of the Leipzig Bachfest, and Hans-Christoph Rademann will take about the piece and the performance. Images from Leipzig and from St Thomas Church will enhance the streaming. The soloists of the performance will be Catalina Bertucci (Sopran), Marie Henriette Reinhold (Alt), Patrick Grahl (Tenor) and Peter Harvey (Bass).

The live stream will be available on www.bachakademie.de as well as the Facebook channels of Bachakademie and Bach-Archiv Leipzig. After the concert, the recording will be available online for half a year.
