On 13 June 2022, the third, extended new edition of the BWV was presented to the public for the first time at the Leipzig Bachfest. This morning, some 70 participants from the Bach world along with representatives of various media gathered at Leipzig's Alte Börse to attend the presentation of the much-anticipated, indispensable reference work.
After a welcome by publishing director Nick Pfefferkorn (Breitkopf & Härtel), editors Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Peter Wollny, Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Christoph Wolff and Dr. Christine Blanken emphasized the importance of the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis for the Bach Archive and outlined the improvements included in the new edition. Pride and joy at having brought the collaborative project to a successful conclusion gleamed through the speeches of all contributors.
